Marika got Master Degree in Biomedical Engineering at University of Naples Federico II.
A 1-year traineeship at IRCCS "Fondazione G.Pascale" led to the realization of a thesis project on
different fitting algorithms for Magnetic Resonance Imaging in breast cancer, with the aim to
obtain the best parameters for tumor classification.
She took the qualification exam to practice the profession of Information Engineer - Section A.
She had Clinical Specialist experience at Medi Corp srl - medical devices, for technical
support of cardiac surgery and hemodynamics products.
She worked at Bio-Check Up srl as Biomedical Image Researcher, dealing with radiomic and
radiogenomic data, and implementing artificial intelligence algorithms applied to the clinical
diagnostic sector.
To date, she works at National Research Council - Institute of Applied Sciences and Intelligent Systems
of Italy (ISASI-CNR) as research fellow in image processing applied to Digital
Holography and Fourier Ptychography in biological field (cells and tissues).
She focuses on computational microscopy and quantitative phase retrieval in cell biology and
diagnostics, thus applying machine learning and statistical analysis.
Currently, she is a PhD student in Computational and Quantitative Biology at University of Naples Federico II,
in order to deepen knowledge in different branches of biological field, from cell/gene composition to artificial intelligence
applications, passing through healthy and pathology states understanding; to manage machine and deep learning issues and to
develop statistical inference skills.
