My name is Antonella Sarnataro and I am a Medical Biotechnologist. During my Master thesis at the University of Naples Federico II, I worked in the field of epigenetics, with a focus on the link between the DNA oxidation and the gene transcription. My one-year internship let me acquire several technical skills, mainly performing molecular biology techniques, such as Real-time PCR and ChIP-seq. I also had the privilege to spend one semester of my master in Germany joining the Erasmus+ programme. This experience helped me as a scientist and as human being since, during that time, I could appreciate the value of knowledge sharing and I was also excited to do science in a very international environment.
The pandemic was a chance for me to enhance my bioinformatics competences and now I am grateful that I could join this PhD programme in Computational and Quantitative Biology at the University of Naples.
